This photo was taken most likely in the late 1940s Harvey and Mamie are standing along the driveway that ran between the barn and the homestead The main barn can be seen behind Harvey in the background and the work/carriage barn can be seen behind Mamie in the background
Also behind Harvey is a magnolia tree that was most likely planted by him When we were kids that magnolia tree was huge Although that was measured in the eyes of youngsters - in reality it was huge I’d estimate the height to have been thirty feet and the width about twenty feet at the time As you might guess, we played like monkeys in that tree
