LA Mosty moved from Lampasas to Kansas City, MO 1883. Worked for a Hardware Store & then as a cattle buyer for Swift & Co. Moved to Sumner Co. Kansas about 1889. Stayed 1 year there. Lived in a tent through the winter with only a small Oil Lamp Stove for heat and cooking. The stove about one foot high with a wick about 4 inches wide. Hot winds burned the corn down & we moved to a farm about 2 miles north of Hepler, Kansas.
