Went into Missouri. A blizzard, rain, sleet & snow caught us on a road. No timber & no wood. A farmer near where we were stuck in the mud came to us & took us to his home. The 1st nite they popped corn and made taffy candy & with a hot supper we all thawed out.
When the blizzard broke we started on our way. The farmer must have liked me very well. When we left he gave me a donkey & bridle. I felt big & very important to know I owned ...
