November 1917 Lee & I purchased 80 acres near Kerrville [Authors Note: This is where Wheaties, Cypress Landing and my home are now.] & moved our nursery there. No hail has hit the place at Center Point since 1917. Several have occured at Kerrville. 1926 Lee & I purchased the 17 acre eld where the greenhouses are located [Authors Note: Where MG Building Materials is now located.] from our Mother for $5,000.00. 1941 we erected the of ce Bldg. & Flower Shop & the rst Greenhouses.
Back to our moving on the farm at Kerrville.

... down the valley to Legion. The rest of our place was heavily timbered. This was cleared by Mexicans for us. The road to town ran along the River under the hill from the present road.
One day Karl swallowed a 6d [6 penny] nail & Mother carried him & ran all the way into town to see a Dr. She found Dr. Palmer who told her it would do no harm.
Lee & I went to school 3 months in the Spring of 1898 & also about 3 months in the fall. This was the total time we went to school. In the late fall I came down ...
